We are always on the look out for platforms that help organisers reduce the amount of time they spend logistically support their events. Much of our consultancy focuses on helping event planners find the time to be more creative. And this is where this weeks “Event Technology of the week” comes to the fore. Say hello to Grenadine Event Planning Software
What does it do?
The platform looks to streamline large conferences by making it much, much easier to arrange multiple sessions. Now we ran a conference with 120 sessions over three days and we thought that was a lot. However after a demo of the platform we found out that 120 sessions is small fry. Some of the events the platform has supported have had over 1000 different sessions and almost as many speakers taking part! So just imagine the administrative time (and the likelihood of mistakes) that doing this manually would cause.
How did it get here?
The platform has a very interesting history. Organisers of a large science fiction convention just couldn’t find a platform that adequately supported their particular style of event. Grenadine was built initially and specifically to support that one event. The event was put together by volunteers and this helps explain the cloud based approach they took. With so many full time event businesses using cloud software it fits in very nicely with many other types of businesses. It’s also app led and again this growth from one specific event has led it to be a very viable product for different events.
Who’s behind it?
Henry Balen a Scottish born Canadian resident leads the team. He’s a very engaging chap who seems to be able to look at the event process with an efficient and keen eye.
What does it look like?
The platform is very simple looking and with so much going on (remember those 1000 speakers and 1000 sessions) this is a bonus. It’s intuitive and nicely modular.
Why is Grenadine this weeks event technology of the week?
With many conferences now at bursting point and many organisers pulling out their hair – with so many sessions and speakers – we are delighted to highlight a platform specifically build for the larger event. We often advocate that the use of the right event technology can reduce your admin from 80% to 20% and we would be pretty sure that Grenadine would be able to help organisers achieve this. Now just imagine how much time that is when you have an event the size of an international comic convention or medical congress! Grenadine Event Planning Software.
