“create. excite. innovative.” How this brief from an Allied Health Professional Body led to a completely different approach to their flagship event.
To say the last few years for the British Dietetic Association’s flagship event have been tumultuous would be a massive understatement. The event in 2011, like many association events, ran at a loss. For the BDA this led to them questioning the very purpose of the event. “BDAC 2012” was judged too risky and looked like delivering too little value. It did not take place that year and there was the distinct possibility that it would never run again.
But only a year later the BDA looked at their flagship event with new vigour and a new purpose.
Gallus Events worked with the BDA to create a simple event brief: “create. excite. innovative.” Working to this brief Gallus Events supported the in-house team to run an exceptionally innovative and creative annual event.
Following the journey with Gallus Events the BDA lost its skepticism of events. They are now in a position where they see the strategic importance of a flagship event as the focal point of a commercial events business within the association.
